12 Days of Christmas: Creative and Festive Ways to Celebrate the Holidays

What are the 12 days of Christmas?

The 12 days of Christmas is the period in Christian theology that marks the span between the birth of Christ and the coming of the Magi, the three wise men.

It begins on December 25 (Christmas) and runs through January 6 (the Epiphany, sometimes also called Three Kings’ Day). The four weeks preceding Christmas are collectively known as Advent, which begins four Sundays before Christmas and ends on December 24.

I am going to take the next Advent days with you to share some 12 Days of Christmas ideas so that you have time to plan for them and can do them yourselves.

Please share with me if you do any of them by tagging me on Social media using #mrsreesvbp #mrsreeskindness

Lets Begin ~ Day 1

I hope you will enjoy this festive ways to share kindness throughout the holiday season!

Thank you for being my clients! Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Yule... the greetings go on and on... and can we please just accept whatever blessing or wish someone sends to us and stop focussing on the negative. If someone offers you a blessing, even if it's Happy Holidays and NOT Merry Christmas... take a moment to remember just how blessed you are to receive such a moment of kindness from someone!

Happy first day of Advent!

There are always four Sundays during Advent prior to Christmas, but Christmas could be any day of the week — which means the distance between the fourth Sunday of Advent and Christmas Day varies. So the length of the season shifts from year to year: In 2016, Christmas fell on a Sunday, which means the season stretched over a total of 28 days. Last year, it was 27 days long. This year, it’s 32 days long.

Advent calendars, though, are more consistent. They’re all set up for a 24- or 25-day season, beginning December 1 and ending on Christmas Eve or, sometimes, Christmas Day. The reason for this is practical: Since the length of the Advent season changes from year to year, it’s easier to pick a fixed number of days for a calendar that can be reproduced or reused every season.
