Parlour Updates ~ Reiki, Book Club and more

I am so excited to announce that I have reached my Reiki Master Level. I am offering Reiki sessions at the Parlour and have added Healing Services to the Booking System that you might find of interest. Currently my booking system is offering Mondays only for Booking Reiki however if you would like to have this added onto a hair service during the week, there is an option for a Healing Haircut service. You can check that out on my webpage.

Or you can contact me directly to see about booking a reiki service on a different day of the week... and I will book it in at my end.

Above is an image I created with AI technology to represent me reaching my Master Level during the year of the dragon.

Stitch & Story is now also a Book Club. Our first book coming up for our April gathering is called The Knitting Circle by Ann Hood. I have completed the book, and it is very good. I think you will enjoy it. All the authors are going to be female authors for this year, and I am choosing books that are not new but have won awards or some kind of recognition... so we are sure to have a good read. If you have read the book before, maybe this is a chance to read it again at a new age with a new point of view.

If you, like me, are on a budget or a no spend year or just love to do good things for the planet, the books I choose will also be available through me in an ebook format that I am happy to send to you for free. You can download a free Kindle app to your phone and then I will email you the book and you load it to your kindle. If you have any difficulty, I am here to help get you set up.

You might also choose to rent the book from the library, either as an ebook or a hard copy... or buy it from the book shop or a used book shop.

I am trying to announce the book of the month TWO MONTHS ahead so that you have a lot of time to read them. I am very busy as I know a lot of you are, but I love to read. Spring and Summer and just around the corner and reading a book is a lovely excuse to set just an hour a day aside to sit outside, relax, sip a tea and get lost in another world.

I hope you will join us and if you would rather not read the book, you are still more than welcome to join the Stitch & Story and listen to the discussion of the book.

Book of the Month for MAY, 2024

The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods.

‘The thing about books,’ she said ‘is that they help you to imagine a life bigger and better than you could ever dream of.’

On a quiet street in Dublin, a lost bookshop is waiting to be found…

For too long, Opaline, Martha and Henry have been the side characters in their own lives.

But when a vanishing bookshop casts its spell, these three unsuspecting strangers will discover that their own stories are every bit as extraordinary as the ones found in the pages of their beloved books. And by unlocking the secrets of the shelves, they find themselves transported to a world of wonder… where nothing is as it seems.

Please reach out if you would like me to send you the free copy of this book via email to download into your Kindle app.

Sweet Pea and Grey Hare Candles will be attending the up coming event for Three Oaks Foundation on

March 8th.

Just a reminder that the sale of the candle "Lost Flowers" will send 50% of the cost to Three Oaks Foundation.

Website Updates!

My website is slowly being updated! It's been SEVEN years since I opened, and a lot has changed since then. We lived through a global pandemic and that changed things everywhere. The Parlour, much like a lot of other businesses, is slowly bringing gatherings, workshops and events back but it takes time and the events I am hosting have changed tremendously.

I too have grown and furthered my education and skills and now offer many services that I was not offering before. So, needless to say, updating the website was needed. I began by creating AI art by me for every service and pictures representing welcomes etc. on the website. The reasoning behind this is that, there still seems to be some confusion as to what I do here at the Parlour. Many still think that I only do retro styling or makeup. It seems odd, because how would I still be in business if that is all I offered, especially in Bellvagas but... I hear it way too often. So, changing the images to a modern technology art style with a vintage feel was a first step. It also gives the website a new cohesive vibe. It took a lot of time creating the art but I'm very happy with it and hope you will love it too.

Don't worry... There is a gallery on the main page of my actual work; Another new addition to the site. You might even see your hair there. I am still adding every day or so, so if you don't see yourself, you may, down the line or mention it to me when you come in and we will be sure to get a great shot of your current hair that I can add to the gallery!

The TESTIMONIAL page has FINALLY been updated! THANK YOU to ALL of you who have taken the time to write me testimonials on Google, Square or sent them to me personally! The page is pretty freakin' humbling and reading all the kind words you have written to me over the past years brought tears to my eyes, and a huge smile to my heart! YOU are the reason I love what I do so very, very much!

There are NEW SERVICES! Check them out.

Don't forget that it's time to get those hair treatments! The weather has never been more fluctuating and we need to get that moisture into our hair before the heat wave that seems to be coming soon!

Nature is soon going to give us that BIG REVEAL of the new Memorial Garden in front of the Parlour! It may not look like much from here yet but...

When you look closely, the flowers we sewed in the Fall are already beginning to pop their wee heads through the soil! It is absolutely incredible! I am just so excited to have this new beginning. A new welcome to the Parlour, a fresh new start after the pandemic. A memorial to remember all our lost loves! THANK YOU to those of you who donated bulbs and plants to put into our beautiful garden!!! I can't wait to see the beauty of spring!

This is the time to cleanse your homes and begin planning your gardens... but please be patient. Please leave the leaves that are helping the bees to hibernate. We still have some snow on the way and although today is going to be unseasonably warm at +14, there are still some chilly days to come!

I will keep updates on the beautiful garden coming to you through the posts!
