OPENING SOON

This is the very fist blog post for Mrs. Rees Vintage Beauty Parlour... OMG!

I guess I should begin by introducing myself...

You can call me Mrs. Rees and I will soon be opening a Vintage style beauty parlour in our town. I have been working with hair in some fashion for 31 years (licenced) and many more prior to that (on friends and family while growing up). I have written school curriculum for an international hair and makeup school in Toronto and was in the film and theatre industry for several years. I then moved to Belleville, Ontario with my husband and will soon be leaving an administrator/instructors position at a local hair school in order to pursue my dream of owning my own 1950's style beauty parlour...

I have been specializing in styles from 1920's to 1960's for years and have shared those styles on many beautiful heads of hair, even in movies... and now I want to share them with you, up close and personal. I want to have this be a whole experience of stepping into the past, when things weren't moving so quickly and women took the time to pamper themselves and went to parties and dressed up... when visiting your local beauty parlour was a weekly event and your stylist was your friend and confidant... when you were the center of attention and you weren't a number to get in and out of a chair as quickly as possible after a $250 bill.

Coming to Mrs. Rees' Vintage Beauty Parlour will be an experience...

I just can't wait to share more with you... the planning has already begun and soon we will be open for business... not just for hair and makeup services but classes too... photo shoots... parties... so many fabulous things are about to enlighten your life and I am so thrilled to be your Beauty Professional!
